I'm new to this forum, and have been looking over a lot of the older topics. I know this topic is a bit old but I have a tidbit to add that I don't believe I have seen anywhere else yet...sorry in advance if it is already been posted elsewhere.

There is also another know general guide flag (left flank) for the 72nd PA later in the war. This was up for sale on Heritage Auctions last year, and I found it quite interesting (I hope others saw it as well). It was roughly the same size as the other pictured, but it had a white trefoil with "72" painted within it. I know it has been a while since this topic was started, but I can dig up the image from my work computer if anyone has not seen it and would like to.
