60th Alabama Infantry Flag

I've run across a reference to the 60th Alabama Infantry's Flag (currently held by the Chicago History Museum) that said "Design is based on the 2nd National Flag (Stainless Banner) of the Charleston Depot type. This type flag was not used until after 5/1/1863. This is consistent with the unit's history, the unit being organized at Charleston, Tennessee on 11/25/1863]"
My question is: what are the distinguishing characteristics that would make it different from a Richmond Depot or a Staunton Depot 2nd National?
My interest in this flag stems from my G-g-grandfather, Pvt. Green Brown, who served from March until Aug. 1862 with the 15th Alabama, Co. E. Was discharged for "phithisis pulmanalis" (what we would now call Tuberculosis), went home for 18 months to recover, then re-enlisted in Feb. 1864 in the 60th Alabama, Co. A, and died in May 24, 1864 from "fever caused by wounds recieved on the battlefield." Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Ever at your service,
Charles Brown
