Is the flag that you are trying to track the one near the bottom listed simply as Virginia Regimental Flag? I have been trying to find the unit for this flag and haven't had much luck yet. I also think the description as written may be incorrect. I have a feeling it was captured at Sayler's Creek and not Namazine Church as listed. The prime candidates I need to examine are units from Wise's VA brigade, and a few different VA artillery batteries. Forgive me if I make a mistake or don't have the correct units listed, my notes on this are at work at the moment. I also need to search the ORs for reports from some units that took colors at the fight. It would help if I could track this brother-in-law of Custer's (Major Thomas Ward), but I cannot track which regiment he was in.
