For the Spanish Fort, the author states that "3 stands of colors" were in the possession of Bell's 8th Iowa once they fought the Texans.

Does "3 stands" mean 3 flags?

Whether he is combining these with the ones at Fort Blakeley to come up with 16 flags, I cannot tell. Thanks again for your help.
