The Flag of the 9th Georgia Infantry

Hello...in regards to the flag of the 9th Georgia Infantry:

The still existing flag seems to have been rectangular in shape...and the blue St. Andrew's cross is deprived of the usual white trim.

The battle honors are a little odd too.

It must not have been a flag issued by Richmond.

My questions: Why would they have had the rectangular flag ? (as opposed to a 48 inch square ANV battleflag )

Were they ever issued an ANV battleflag ?

The flags of brigade mates, the 8th Georgia is known , would the 9th had the same flag...excepting for using a '9th' where '8th' is ?

Thank you in advance!

Phil O.
