Why do we use AoT for CS Army of Tennessee, but ANV for Army OF Northern Virginia? I had been doing the same thing until noticing contemporary/wartime use of AT (and always being on the lookout for ways of limiting keystrokes).
Just thought I'd throw that out -- I plan to use AT (with courtesy expansion of first use in a paper) henceforth.
