This flag went up for sale in 2008 (note the date of the article) and it did not sell because the owner thought it would command $150,000 or more. It is the company flag of the Burke Rifles, 2nd GA Infantry.

While it is indeed the only surviving flag from this famous GA regiment, it is not adorned with any slogans, unit designations, etc. that would most certainly add to its collectable value. The flag probably did not serve in a tenth of the claimed battles as the 2nd GA did get ANV battle flags during the war.

I was involved with some GA newspaper articles for this flag back in 2008 and the owner blames me and another historian for it not going for $150,000 when it is he who is to blame for offering a rare flag but not one rare enough to command that price range. Maybe $50,000 tops - maybe.
