I have been the Color Sergeant for the Union Battalion Army of the Willamette (Northwest Civil War Council) for the past 18-year's. Recently and with a need to not pull member's from other units to be a part of the Guard, I received approval from the NWCWC Board to form a new Specialized Military Unit of Sub-Company Size, of which we now portray the 149th New York State Volunteer Infantry (all companies). We do everything pretty much by the book when it comes to the Color Guard, however it is a continued and leaning experience.
