Warp & Weft not 1-Ply or2-Ply bunting ?

I stand corrected,I knew I would get some attention if my terminology was incorrect. Thank you now I know the difference between warp and weft. So if the weft is the thread that goes under and over the warp thread and the AoT (Mobile Depot) flags were made with a lighter weft material vs the heavier weft used on ANV flags why the difference? Did these depots procure their bunting from different mercantile sources? Was one type cheaper than the other?
Didn't all bunting at this time come from purchases acquired in England? Did the flag makers in the two different regions have prefrence over lighter vs heavier weft constructed bunting? We certainly can't say they made due with what they got, if this was the case we would have equal probability of uniformity or variance in both regions if this was the case.
Are there examples of the reverse where heavier weft was used in Mobile type flags and lighter type weft used in ANV flags?

It would seem to me that if you went with the more sheer or lighter weft construction of the AoT flags you would certainly be more challenged in painting the flag due to more bleed out.
