How many more unknown names are you going to add as witnesses? What auction house sold you this flag?

If it originally had a rope herder, why was it removed? For hanging on a wall? that is a unusual step to take. Museums try to preserve history not change it, unless they have a political bent.

As I said before, a good textile report on the flag would help you legitimize your claims. A good textile school, just might do it for free, as a learning tool for the class. If that’s an insult, so be it.
