I'm new to this web-site having just discovered it a few days ago and already reaping information I've been seeking. At a very early age I was exposed to our Civil War History by my Dad who dragged us boys to many a battlefield. To that I'm very gratefull as I just love reading anything and everything about that time in our history. I'm especially interested in any information I can discover about my family memebers who served.

My GGGranddad was Branch A Holt a member of the 18th Va Infrantry. According to James I Robertson's Regimental History of the 18th he enlisted on April 23, 1861

His brother Robert A Holt enlisted on July 18th 1861 as a memeber of the 56th Va Infrantry according to William A Young's Regimental History

I would be very interested in obtaining any information about both of these Regiments it's members and anything available about Branch and Robert Holt

The only other book I've obtained is " I wrote you word" by Private John Lee Holt who served in the 56th Va. Book was was edited by James A Mumper
