hy i am new to this site, i have been making my own list of captured union colors. i know the guys on here may have them all, but i will post the ones not mentioned on here before. i have this one from a web site, very long web page, this is what it said, jacksons vally campagne,,, for example when poorly led undisciplined multi-national troops that constitute the 39th new york, attempted a bayonet charge against the 21st georgia on the 8th june 1862 during the battle of cross keys,the federals had no knowledge of the strong leadership and high morale of their opponent,the georgians,who had routed the [8th new york and captured the units regimental flag earlier in the day,] patiently waited for the 39th new york to advance,once the federals were within fifty yards of their lines,the georgians poured volleys of buckshot and ball into them,causing them to waver, then retreat,some ran in panic for the rear. well thats the first one done.
