If memory serves they were one of the regiments that received one of the Army of the Peninsula battle flags in April 1862 while operating as part of Gen. John Magruder's army. These flags were square and divided in half diagonally into red and white. The 32nd Virginia used their flag as late as Sharpsburg where, according to the regimental history, it got shot up pretty badly.
The flag is missing sadly. I will have to dig into my files to see if I have anything else for other flags of the regiment.
