A friend of mine has asked me about a flag used by the 2nd Missouri Cavalry (US) also known as "Merrill's Horse". The picture he showed me was from Time-Life's Echoes of Glory (Union) series. It appeared to be a Tiffany & Co. manufactured New York Depot National Color but would a Union mounted unit carry a 6' x 6' flag? Surely if they were called a "Horse" unit, they were mounted. Any information on this matter would be appreciated.
