All: Yes, this is the flag that had been in the Illinois National Guard Museum for decades. We are indebted to the Commanding Officer of the IL National Guard and the Director of the ILNG Museum for their graciousness in allowing the return of this flag to MS. The flag is now owned by the MS National Guard Museum at Camp Shelby, but will be on long-term loan to Beauvoir, the historic last home of Pres. Jefferson Davis. Again, we are asking that no one request photos of the flag or ask to view it until after April 28, 2012, when it will be officially premiered at Beauvoir on Confederate Memorial Day.
