Here is a scan of page 60 in Howie's Battle Flags book. Pg 59 explains that some of the flags of the western units and the ANV were "basically the same design" except for several construction details. There are several black & white illustrations of "western" flags that were captured from units that served with the ANV.
I also included a photo of an 1851 Colt Navy revolver carried by a member of the 34th, and a photo of a 34th display that I did at a gun show that shows my sewn 3rd bunting style flag, and a view of a display done for a presentation "Valiant Vanguard, Witcher's Nighthawks at Gettysburg" done at the Asa Waters mansion for the Massachusetts Arms Collectors. A few very well known museum curators attended and liked the 2nd pattern flag.
