I don't think that the flag with the battle honors was a Van Dorn pattern. Rather, it was the larger version of the Mobile Depot pattern with the Southern Cross and the battle honors along the outside edges of each quadrant. A couple of these flags still survive today and they are depicted in Howard Madaus' book on CS flags of the Army of Tennessee.
