The logistics of my trip to Virginia last week precluded a weekend lecture for me. This trip was based around my speaking to two Civil War Roundtables in the area (Fredericksburg and Leesburg) which is what paid for my trip to Virginia from Tennessee. Those CWRTs met on Monday and Tuesday nights of last week and then the MOC was Wednesday. My time for the MOC was donated but had it not been for my expenses being paid by the two CWRTs the MOC lecture would not have happened at all.

Next year's hoped for event will be the same thing - I will need a couple CWRTs to ask me to speak and cover my travel costs and then the open night will be at the MOC. It is all based on who and when and sadly a weekend night might not work at all due to this. I also had business in South Carolina this past weekend so could not have been at the MOC then anyway.

Hope this explains why the event was last Wednesday. If someone wants to underwrite my expenses there and back I will be happy to speak at the MOC anytime they would like to have me - or if I ever win Powerball then the costs will not be a problem. I would love for everyone who wants to come be able to come.
