Re: UPPER DECK Destroys Civil War period flag

Gary,
Sadly, this is not as isolated a case as one might think.
Seems that "lots of little pieces make more money than just one piece".
A vendor recently offered fragments of the 5th Texas flag; sold out! "only
had a few pieces". Not bad at over $300 a pop!!
The same source offered pieces of the "last flag over the Virginia Capitol Bldg".
Only had a "dozen of so left, the original piece was 2' X 3'.!!!!
Then there was the "forty pieces" of the Flag of Fort Morgan, Ala."!!!!
About 20 years ago a SCV group in Tenn. cut up an unidentified 1st Natl as
a fund raiser!!!
The bottom line is that the authenticity of these "pieces" is impossible to confirm!!
Buyer beware!!! A piece of old cloth does not necessarily come from a flag!!!
