The flag taken from the 5th Georgia by the 57th New York was their August Depot battle flag now in a private collection in Georgia.

The flag was returned to the vets of the 5th GA in August 1884 by the vets of the 57th New York in Macon, GA. It was then taken to Confederate reunions quite a few times
