The First National shown on the web site was on display where it could be viewed closely when I was at the Smithsonian a few years ago, and it doesn't LOOK like a true period flag. I think I have read on this site that brass grommets were invented before then, but I have never seen a real flag that had them. Too, it was in amazing condition to have been flown 150 years ago. However, it was presented in a manner indicating that it was original.
