This is the rare limited edition work, number 116 of 125, complete with 32 chromolithograph plates of the various flags utilized by Union troops at Gettysburg. Each plate is accompanied by a leaf of descriptive text. Beale served in the 12th Massachusetts Regiment and he was present during the battle. The book is in its original binding with wear to the spine and edges. The front hinge is loose. The plates are in excellent condition.
I obtained two examples of this title in a lot from a Canadian vexillologist who, some years ago, decided to specialize in yacht flags. My asking price is $2250.00 which includes insured Priority Mail shipping.
