The Civil War Flags Message Board

Re: Brice's Crossroads
In Response To: Brice's Crossroads ()

Hello Charles, I had not been on here for awhile. My niece is typing everything up and when she gets done (2-3 years) I will have a much better understanding of nearly thirty years of reading and recording Union flags/colors captured.

I am personally, working on Union captured Artillery/Battery flags. I need to know what exact pieces were captured (Caliber), who captured them, where, etc. That is the only subject the Union would admit to. As far as their flags, they were very loathe to admit that.

I have cancelled the "Southern Tour" for I have too many books to read, I would guess 15,000-25,000?? My Godfather/Mentor bequeathed me all of his War of Rebellion books, maps, notes, you name it, down to rusty nails. I will gleam for any information and see what I find. That doubled my collection, so I went to the Home Depot and made more book shelves. I like building my own book shelves, measure them out, get the wood and I can build them as wide and tall as I want. I believe there is (At the minimum) 55,000 Civil War books printed and published. It may be as high as 70,000?? Somewhere in the middle. I am not interested in non-battle books, political, slavery, what if this, what if that, etc.

Have a good day Charles and thank you for all the hard work, you do!!!
