Re: Flag of Rucker's Brigade made 1863 and 1864?

I am not disputing whether your wool flag was used as a battle flag or not, only suggesting that its origin may have been a flag that was already in existance in 1863, and just put to another use after the addition of the stars. That could help explain why the Rucker's Brigade Flag is different from the ANV flag. Instead of waiting for an official depot-issued battle flag they created a flag with the same essential elements of a diagonal cross and 13 stars. No mistaking that flag for anything other than CSA.
