7th Regiment Mississippi Infantry Flag

Ken, I see you flag board fellas get wound up. Reminds me of how the flag identified at the Tennessee Archives as the battle flag of the 7th Battn Miss. Inf. was in fact the flag of the 7th Regiment. It seems the "experts" failed check with the Tennessee State Museum where the correspondence from General Dalghren's son donated the flag and in handwritten notes said the flag had been borne by Col. Bishop's (William H.-killed at Franklin) Regiment and was given to the general by men of his old command. The flag was used at many reunions after the war and was the regimental standard after Shiloh until replaced in Dalton, GA (1864). That flag was captured at Jonesboro, GA and is at the Museum in Richmond. The Dahlgren flag is on display at the Tennessee State Museum after being restored with funds from the McMain's Family Trust. I will be in Nashville Saturday to see it in person along with several ANV Tennessee flags restored with funds from some of those
"Reenactors", bless their hearts.

Lest We Forget-The Immortal Seventh Mississippi and the "High Pressure Brigade".
