The following article about the Grenada Rifles Flag (Co. G, 15th Miss. Inf.) is from the Oxford Intelligencer, April 3, 1861:

"Military and Civic Ball - The Grenada Rifles, now fully armed and equipped, will be presented with a beautiful flag on Friday evening next, at 11 o'clock, by Miss Mollie Granberry. In the evening they will get up a Military and Civic Ball, in the usual excellent style of Grenadians. Oxford will be well represented on the occasion. We hope to represent 'the press' on that day, should our duplicate linen be ready in time, and one or two subscriptions be cashed by tomorrow evening."
