The Civil War Flags Message Board

ADAH folks

I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank Mr. Bob Bradley and Ms. Ryan Blocker from the Alabama Dept. of Archives & History. I had the profound pleasure of meeting them Monday morning in Montgomery as I traveled home from the 150th Annivesary Re-enactment of the Battle of Chickamauga in Georgia.
I could not have asked for two more gracious hosts. I was made to feel immediately at home as I was conducted on a tour of the ADAH collection. We spent three hours and didn't even come close to scratching the surface of their vast collection of artifacts. The highlight of the tour was viewing the flags of the 15th and 34th Alabama Infantry. It gave me chills to know that I was seeing the very same flags that my great-great grandfathers saw and fought under.
Mr. Bradley and Ms. Blocker are extremely knowledable and very enthusiastic about their chosen profession. I learned more Monday morning about Alabama CW history than I thought I would ever know. Their enthusiasm is infectious and I am inspired to learn more about my Alabama ancestors. I feel very comforted knowing that this wonderful collection is in such capable hands. Thanks again, Bob & Ryan.
Ever at your service,
Charles Brown
