.. Sorry I was not able to make it this year to have been able to meet both you and Kieth finally. Tried to get in but they had already shut off the online registration, and no response from inquiry to the contact point they had listed.

Interesting on the 10th SC. I also had a number of ancestors in that unit. A new regimental book is underway on the 10th by Broadfoot. Of the half dozen or so ancestors in the 10th I have copies of period photos of two of them in their uniform. They were a tough bunch and saw plenty of action.

On a side note while in travels working on a documentary film project two years ago, encountered a private collector with a huge massive collection of artifacts. Most US stuff but he did have some CS items too. He also had was a personal collection of items contributed to an officer of the 10th SC. This included an officer frock coat I was able to examine. Material, trim, and pattern was clearly of those found to have come out of Charleston SC in the early-mid war era. Also included in this same officers effects was a confederate flag reportedly contributed in some manner to the 10th SC. However It was an ANV style saltier cross pattern, but not assembled in the manner most ANV flags are. It was square, silk, no (existing) border, no edging on the cross, and what appeared to once be painted stars. No markings noted on the flag. It is quite fragile and is mounted in a frame when I saw it. The collector also had a couple other flags but those I saw were mostly all US with at least one US regimental unit ID marked flag. It all was quite impressive.
