Re: I'm back - Gettysburg flags listing

Shaun,

Robinson's Division (2/I Corps) captured three confirmed flags on July 1st on Oak Ridge.
Wheelock's 97th NY capture the colors of the 20th NC/Iverson (half of which was later recaptured by Confederates.)
Foust's (WIA) 88th Pennsylvania captured two; that of the 23rd NC/Iverson (resulting in a MOH awarded to Sgt Gilligan). Additionally the 88th PVI captured an Alabama flag, probably from O'Neals' Bde. The identity of the Alabama flag was in question even by the participants who initially identified it as being of the 16th AL. The 16th AL was not at Gettysburg nor even in the ANV. In the course of my research I am confident it was actually that of the 26th AL that the 88th captured. So there are three more flags you may add to your totals.
