These flags were evidently decorated by the same person. The lettering style on the flag of the 6th Ky. Inf. is identical, except all of the battle honors were done on a slant (to make all the letters parallel to the hoist and fly). Only fragments exist of the 9th Ky's flag (it and the flag of the 4th Ky were cut up at their surrender in May 1865), but the crossed cannons inverted on the 9th's flag were the same as those on the flag of the 6th Ky. (I know of no fragments of the 2nd or 4th Ky. flags that show any decoration.)
