A battle belonging to the 38th Ga. Infantry Regiment has been identified, after being lost to history for over 150 years. The flag reposes at the MoTC and was incorrectly attributed to the 31st Ga. Regt. This flag was abandoned, or lost, during the battle of Shepherdstown, also known as the Battle of Boteler's Ford, on September 19, 1862. The MoTC flag id # is WD 106. Many thanks to Greg Biggs for his help in presenting the evidence and support to the MoTC. I received an email from a MoTC curator earlier this month confirming the attribution has been changed to reflect it belonged to the 38th Ga.
