"Hoisting of the Flag over Jacksons Grave"

Yesterday was the anniversary of the burial of Gen. Jackson, which was the day appointed for the hoisting of the flag presented by Mr. Hugh Sheddon of Liverpool England. The flag was manufactured by the generous donor, and it is a handsome and beautiful piece of work. On the occasion Ex-Governor Letcher at the request of Gen.Smith addressed the immense crowd of Ladies and Gentlemen that assembled there, to witness the hoisting of the flag. The speech of Gov. Letcher was a very interesting sketch of Gen.Jacksons military career, and the elequent address was listened to with eager and profound attention.
