If this flag is not a Staunton Depot flag then it is very close to an ANV Fifth Bunting issues flag which, according to Madaus, started appearing in late October, 1864. The first issues went to the ANV units that had been part of the Valley army replacing the flags lost, in particular at Cedar Creek.

I have seen the white wool bunting of ANV flags run from this sheer to not sheer at all.

The matter of this flag would be settled once and for all if some of us could actually see it.
