The withdrawal and dispersal of the "Cusachs" collection
from the Louisiana State Museum by the Cusachs family is
a disaster and tragedy to Louisiana history.
The collection had been in the Museum's collection since 1909
and the family was totally unaware of its "loan status" until
notified by museum officials. So much for local pride and patriotism!!!
The almighty dollar wins again.

Cat. # 112 is another flag with CW connections.
I believe that it actually belongs to the "Perrett Guards" of the
5th La. Inf. A flag left behind in New Orleans when the Company
left for the Virginia front.
The remnants of the initials "P G" can be found beneath the strips
bearing the dedication to Andrew Jackson.
What better way to hide a rebel flag from Gen. Butler and his thieves
than to disguise it as one intended for Andrew Jackson

Again, a disaster for Louisiana history!!!!!!!!!!
