and who put that note on YOUR flag and when???
I'm familiar with the flag in Springfield.
Concerning its ID it bears the same words that
Madaus used to describe YOUR flag.
Those words;
"maybe", "might be", "could be", "possibly", "most likely",
& "probably".
Madaus, over the course of 14 years NEVER found a positive
ID for the flag you now own.
He initially id'd it as "possibly the 47th Ga. Inf." (1990) then he
was made aware of the surviving flag of that unit in the Ga. St. Museum.
He then changed his ID to that of the 6th Ga. Cavalry. Again all the
"maybes" applied. (2004)
The above statements could be applied to the so-called flag of the
25th ("possibly") at Springfield.
I have copies of ALL the documents that you refer to.
My research (and opinion) does not begin and end at my wallet.
