Michael,
The Van Dorn pattern flag captured at Corinth in Oct 1862
and currently held by the State of Iowa has been tentatively
id'd as that of the 43rd Miss. Inf.
It was previously id'd as the 40th Miss.
In May 1864 the unit was presented with a flag bearing the
inscription in latin of "Not For Us Alone, But For Country And Friends".
See the Mobile Morning News of Aug. 15, 1864, pg. 1.
It is not known to have survived to this date.

Do you know of any other info concerning this unit's flag or Color Party?
