WD 445 is not a 5th Corps flag. It is identified in Madaus, The Battle Flags of the Confederate Army of Tennessee, p 125 and p 110, n190 as a headquarters flag from French's Division. In the report filed by Col. Victor Vifquain of the 97th Illinois he states "My regiment captured 1 battle-flag, 1 headquarters flag (French's division), and another battle-flag (Missouri brigade, General Cockrell's)." (OR 49/1 p 214) Presently this flag with a white Maltese cross on a dark blue field in tn the collection of the MOC in Richmond.
