I am starting to think that the 15th Arkansas might not have lost their colors in Liberty Gap but the account in the diary pertains to the lost flag of the 2nd Arkansas in that fight.

St. John Liddell, the CS brigade commander, only made mention of one flag lost at Liberty gap; that of he 2nd Arkansas Infantry.
