36 Star US glazed cotton Flag

This is a typical "parade" flag of the 1860's to 1880's era. It is printed on glazed muslin (cotton.) Having 36 stars, of course, dates this flag officially from July 4 1865 to July 3 1867, though we can be sure that flagmakers started producing 36 star flags by the end of 1864 when Nevada achieved statehood. As there were no regulations for civilian flags whatsoever until 1912, there is no such thing as a standard star pattern. The Navy and Army each issued regs on what their flags were to look like, but these did not apply to commercial manufacturers. On eBay this flag would sell for $200 to $500 +/- depending on how you list it and who happens to be shopping for a 36 star flag. The condition of this flag is good to very good for its age.
