Re: 63rd Va. &Hardee Pattern Flag

Ken,

I forgot to mention that Sugar Grove, Virginia lies mainly in Smyth County and spills over into Grayson County. Jeff states he has gone over newspapers from the town of Marion, Virginia during that period and many bits of corresponance and family papers of local citizens as well as accountsby veterans of the war from the two counties. Much of his info comes from his own family records. I believe that Jeff had over 20 blood relations in the 63rd Virginia. Here are a few of them.

BLEVINS, LILBURN: Co. C
BLEVINS, WILLIAM MARSHALL: Co. G
SPENCER, NOAH: Co. G/I(2)
SPENCER, TROY H.: 2nd Lt., Co. C
SPENCER, WILLIAM: Corp., Co. C
WEAVER, ANDREW: Co. C
WEAVER, JACOB H.: Co. D
WEAVER, JASON: Co. C
WEAVER, WADE HAMPTON: Sgt., Co. C
WEAVER, WILLIAM: Co. C

This site contains a lot of Jeff's research.
