Excellent work, Ms. Roberts, I will write those regiment's down and see what I can find.
My books, info, on the battle of Franklin had nothing on Sharp's brigade in the battle. This was not made up off the top of my head. This is why we need more information on the later hours of the battle. I am here to learn, help and read on any info on captured flags. My information was incorrect, those authors were wrong.
On a side note, just recently a book about the retreat of Gettysburg was released, this filled a huge void on the aftermath of Gettysburg. I too was left in the shade on that subject. I hope Mr. Jacobon's book comes out (I have searched all my local book stores) nothing found :(.
I specialize in the Army of Potomac's flags captured and Lee's army flags captured. I am very much into Union battle flags captured at Gettysburg. This summer I plan on heading to Gettysburg, talk to the experts and see what they have to say. I have contacted the Pennsylvania and Ohio national historical flag people, and they did'nt have much on the flags at Gettysburg. If anyone knows of anything to do with captured Union flags at Gettysburg or Lee's Army, please let me know. I know Gregg is into that also.
PS. I am very sorry if I came off in anyway of disrespecting any decendents of southern regiments. I have always had my heart with the south. I grew up in the Mount Vernon, Virginia area.
About two years ago I found that I had around 220ish family memebers in the Civil War. My jaw dropped, I was thinking this cant be real. My luck it was 98% yanks and 2% rebels lol
Thank you once again for the information,
Shawn
