I have had good results with acrylic paints suited for fabrics.
Its a very fat kind of tupe-paint I've used and a good idea, if possible, is to make a pattern for which I used laminated plastic, cut out with a sharp knife. First I used a spunge and after carfully removing the pattern, I did the fine edges with a small brush.
