Wow, that's a lot of information. I've been following this discussion for a while and I want to believe Confederado's version ('cause it's so much fun).
I've always wondered about this Hardee Pattern design so this discussion is fascinating for me. I have two questions that that haven't been addressed yet.
1. Was there a real Rising of the Moon flag during the 1798 revolution or was it just a term used in a song?
2. What's to say that the Army of Central Kentucky didn't develope THEIR flag from this Irish Moon (song or real flag).
My relatives fought under the McCown Flag. It's easy to figure out.
