There is only one biography of Buckner a it is out of date - by Arndt Stickles. You can still find them out there. I forget if he was able to access the Buckner papers or not, which are at the Huntington Library in California.

Stickles, now deceased, taught history at Western KY University in Bowling Green, KY.
