I also just finished reading Sam Watkins book. It is the best, most vivid, description of what Civil War battle was like that I have ever read. My heart was fairly pounding by the time I finished reading about "Dead Angle."

I didn't have an ancestor in the 29th. My great grandfather and several of his brothers and cousins were all in the Ninth Tennessee Cavalry that rode with Morgan.
