Hello There,

i have a 38 star flag configuration 8,7,8,7,8 the eight star near the hoist.
The white area has stamped in it "Patented Apr 20th 1870"
"American Ensign" "8 Ft".
All three brass grommets are intact.
The flag fabric is wool, with some tears and small holes over the field.
It measures 52" by 80" and was found in an attic in West Chester, PA .

Stars are printed dyed i would guess.

can anyone give some info on this flag.
