I would like to make a correction as my friend told me Pvt.McPherson was not the man that took the 56th's Pa's flag. He was one of four men from the 2nd MS that went after the 149th Pa's flags that were "Planted in a pile of fence rails".
I thanked him for pointing that out to me, and asked if he knew who took "a flag" from the 56th Pa. He did not know of the name either.
I really liked the history some of you posted on the 56th Pa's flags at Gettysburg. I dont believe it was the regimental or national as some of you pointed out. I trust that the flag captured was just as you said it was.
Again, thank you for all the help and information on the 56th Pa's flag/flags at Gettysburg. A huge help!
Have a great weekend, everyone
