If I recall correctly the 149th PV of the Bucktail Brigade had their flags captured at McPherson's Farm 1JY1863 after the color guard was sent to draw artillery fire away from the brigade. Upon the final advance of the CS Infantry, the brigade retreated with the rest to Seminary Ridge, but the color guard stayed put as they had received no orders to retreat (Col. Roy Stone who dispatched the guard had been wounded.)
