My pleasure, Bill. I have not been on these boards as much as I should, so I figured I would share what I come across that might be helpful to others. I tried to spread out the info I have found to the other boards but as you see, I seem to have concentrated on flags since there are so few left and not much information on the missing ones.
Like I mentioned to Mr. Biggs, I hope to soon have an article in print on Jacob Gall, a private in the 19th LA. Infantry, who ended up making flags and uniforms for General Hardee. My research of my ancestor's unit, the 19th Louisiana, led me to Gall and hence to the flag information.
My eternal thanks go to Dr. Arthur W. Bergeron, Jr., a good friend, who inspired me on a trip to the Louisiana State Archives (back when we both had darker hair) to do detailed research.
