Thats exactly what I had found. The 102nd new york had captured the 12th Ga's flag at Chancellorsville. I am very happy you have found solid evidence on this matter.

I believe it was very rare for a Confederate regiment to go through 4 years of war and not lose a flag.

The 14th nc claims just to have lost 1 flag (Sharpsburg).

The 25th nc says they never lost a flag.

It is difficult, at the battle of Sailor's Creek and the smaller engagements that led to Appomattox surrender. So many flags were captured, even to this day they are unknown.

But what I have attempted to do was take the flags that were surrendered at Appomattox and what flags were not turned over and see what there was.
